I want to lose weight, but I'm unmotivated. I like to eat. I like to sit on my ass and watch TV. I sometimes like to veg in front of my computer. I don't get
I don't really want to hit that 200 mark, but at this point it doesn't seem like I'm motivated enough to keep from going there. Look at me now. I COULD be out doing some crunches or something, but instead, I've got my feet propped up on the desk and I'm writing on my blog. What is wrong with me?
So who (and by who, I'm looking to the two of you who read my blog) is going to be my big motivator? Who wants to encourage me to lose that weight? Who wants to share those great weightloss secrets? Because at this point, I'm totally open to suggestions...
(yeah, i'm sticking out the gut a little bit on the front shot, but it still looks gross...at times I even look pregnant. yikes!)

200 lbs... *SIGH*...I remember that weight...back in HIGH SCHOOL!
I dont have a magic answer son. I know, when I was 19, I lost 40 in a month and a half over the summer. Just up all the time, sleeping little, hanging out with friends, eating little. It fell off. Course, it all came back...and with a vengeance!!!
All I'll tell ya is, it's best to start now, cause I can speak from experience, the older you get the harder it is to lose.
Hugs, and good luck!!!
HAPPY HNT!
Tell yourself you can't sit and blog until you have powerwalked or jogged for one hour a day...
tell yourself
you must "break a sweat" once a day
IT does the body good
Happy HNT!
I'm getting there myself. And these Doritos and this Internet aren't helping matters any. ;)
OK You will run to my blog and check out my sidebard for my HNT post called Big Fat Losers HNT, where you will see myself and two male bloggers showing off our weight loss.

At the time of that post I had lost 35 pounds but now I have lost 45..yeah Im hot.
Ok heres what I did...I cut out sugar...I love my soda...I switched to diet soda...then I started being more active, eating less carbs, less pizza, less sugar...and it took me two years....but I am now 125 down from 170..woo hoo!
SO yeah, try cutting something out of your diet...sugar or white flour and you will be amazed!
Good luck and you know what, you are beautiful, tummy or not~
Just think logically:
Energy in > energy out = weight gain
Energy in < energy out = weight loss
For motivation, find in your wardrobe or buy a pair of jeans say 2-4" less in waist size than your current pair and set yourself the goal of being able to wear them comfortably in 2-3 months time. It worked for me.
Good luck and Happy HNT.
Ok, I'm no wonder person here but I have lost 172 pounds in the last year. Yes, that says One Hundred and Seventy pounds! I did not lose it on my own. I had gastric bypass surgery. I'm not saying you should do this. What I'm trying to say is, don't let yourself get over 200. It's all downhill from there. Make a pact with yourself not to go there.
You've taken the first step by not ignoring the fact that you are approaching 200. My biggest mistake was to ignore my weight for 15 years. Don't do this!!
You are going to be fine!
Happy Half Nekkid Thursday!
I know how you feel. My weight slowly creped up to 244 and so will yours if you don't do something.
Earlier this year I came to the conclusion that if I wanted to live a long time, I needed to get my weight down to a healthy level. Today I weight 220.
I did it by joining the MOVE program at the VA hospital. All of the information they gave us, and more, is available on their web site at [http://www.move.va.gov/]. Check it out. It can't hurt.
LOL pregnant with a Budweiser baby?
i like a guy with a little meat on his bones but since you asked...i would suggest avoiding carbs...and yes, breaking a sweat every day. It takes 21 days to make a new habit, and if you exercise daily, you'll sleep better, your mood will be better, etc.
HHNT in the meantime!
No magic. Just eat less, exercise more. Maybe we can motivate each other?
When you're not purposely sticking your stomach out, you don't look bad at all, to me.
HHNT!
I've recently lost 20 lbs. While I don't suggest my motivation (pre-diabetes)I can suggest taking a walk with your family in the evenings after dinner. CCB and I walked for 30 minutes most nights and I'm convinced it did the most good for me. I hadn't been getting ANY exercise either. I'm not talking strolls you need to get your heartrate up a little. Good luck!
I'm in the same boat with you needing to lose weight and haven't been successful motivating myself - much less anyone else. Maybe you and I should come up with some challenge for one another - who can lose the most weight by year end or something. I always do better when its competitive... :)
So you carry all of your extra pounds in the tummy, so does my husband. He drinks soda and eats doritos and doesn't get enough exercise. I'm over weight too, but I have been successful at taking off pounds.
What worked for me was walking four to five days a week. Start out with just a mile and work your way up to three or four. I did my deep breathing as I walked and it did wonders. Give it a try....I know that means that you will have to get up and go outside but it will help.
Good luck.
